Life happens in seasons: Dance in the rain no matter what... #HarpersRadar

Everything happens in its season and there's a time for every activity under the sun...

Life is a journey full of seasons (literally and figuratively). As many of you know, I've been working on the scripted series, Harper's Radar for six months and it's been a blast. Today, as I walked into my 9-to-5, I felt overwhelmed with joy knowing that I was moving forward toward something bigger and better than myself, working hard, walking out the journey, and finally honestly enjoying "the process."

We've been filming for the past six weeks and this journey has been longer and much more difficult that I initially thought... (I'll soon share my step-by-step guide to producing your own large scale indie project). It has been months of waking up early on the weekends, feeding people, organizing events, coordinating schedules, sending emails, auditioning people, working up contracts, making phone calls, spending money, and more! This project was born in December 2015 and it's been a whirlwind. Everyone has been so supportive, encouraging, and helpful. (THANK YOU!)

During this time, I've learned the importance of taking care of myself, getting in some quality me-time, and lifting up others along the way. Again, it's been a looooong, awesome process.

Okay, so where do the seasons of life come into play? Glad you asked. Everything happens in its season and there's a time for every activity under the sun. Some days, months, and years, we have to work our butts off toward whatever it is we want in life. Some days, months, and years, we struggle with difficulties, tests, and trials. Other days, months, and years, we reap the benefits of the work we've done! If we're willing to work some seasons, cry some seasons, be exhausted some seasons, we'll be able to relax other seasons, laugh other seasons, and be restored other seasons. Be willing to go through each season with an optimistic outlook, knowing every season has its time and its purpose.

Here are my top 3 pieces my advice on how to dance in the rain, no matter the season:

1. Keep a list of all the things you're grateful for...

An attitude of gratitude will really keep you afloat during the not-so-pretty times. By remembering all the things you're blessed with, you magnify the good things; thus, minimizing the bad things. So, seriously, keep a list handy.

2. Surround yourself with those you aspire to emulate...

Birds of a feather flock together, whether you believe it or not. Your friends are a reflection of you. If you want to go to higher heights, you've got to hang with eagles that soar high.

3. Stay productive and proactive...

Work a little bit toward your goal everyday. Whatever you consider to be your dream, write out a small, manageable plan comprised of lists of doable actions. Little by little, you'll find yourself getting closer to making your dream a reality.
